I came across this video this Advent season thanks to Mike Breen.  It’s a fantastic video of the Christmas story staring a bunch of kids from a church in New Zealand.  The thing that struck me about this video were the expressions on the kids faces, especially the expression by the kid who plays Joseph when Mary comes to tell him that she is pregnant.    There are so many other moments in this video that will bring a smile to your face in the few minutes it lasts.

But when it’s all said and done, this video was a picture and a reminder to me of what it means to have faith like a child and how the wonder, joy and delight of Christmas are true expressions of the Father’s heart.  I think all to often we have this mental image of God as this angry, stern, crotchety old man who takes himself all to serious, when in reality, God is a God who delights in his children with a huge smile on his face.

So as you watch this, may you experience the delight and joy of God that he has for us, his children.

Grace and Peace to you this Christmas.

The greatest delight I experienced this holiday season was watching the video you posted from Mike Breen. Though I would agree that the expression on the children’s faces were fun and engaging, I was most impressed by “the party”. What joy there will be! Too often I let the self imposed pressures of the holiday season rob me of the joy of the Kingdom of God brings. Thanks for the simple reminder from “the mouths of babes”.
